GETTING A COLLEGE LOAN

College can be expensive, but that doesn’t mean it’s an option only for those with trust funds. You can get financial aid, apply for scholarships, take out a loan, or opt for a lighter course load and work while you put yourself through school.

CHOOSING A COURSE

Most teenagers don’t have clearcut career goals by the time they graduate from high school. Fortunately, you don’t have to select a course immediately. It’s possible to enroll in general subjects first, then choose a major after two years. Others enroll in an online program and work for a few years, just to get an idea of what kind of work they will enjoy, and then go to a bigger university when they feel ready (at least, by then, they’ve gotten some of the general credits out of the way). And remember, you can always shift majors in the middle of your university stay. If you want to study abroad, it may be a good idea to attend language classes first: sprachschule englisch Cork.
